cb750 k1 early head, no valve seals?
« on: March 17, 2016, 08:41:07 PM »
Hey all I'm Building a 1971 cb750k 2/71 eng serial number starts with 107***.
I just took apart the head and found  seal-less long pointy exhaust guides. and nothing on the intake side either. the intake side does have recess to allow for the seal so I'm gonna assume I can add the seals there... any advice would be appreciated as what i see contradictes my parts fiche...thx

Early engines had no exhaust valve guide seals.

BUT, they had intake valve seals right from the beginning.

Sounds like someone rebuilt the motor and left them out.  I'd be looking carefully for anything ELSE they may have done wrong also.
