GPZ 43 mm forks, convert to CB 750
« on: May 08, 2016, 02:21:59 PM »
Just got the forks complete, thinking of running them on my 74 750.
Any thoughts, or done these before?
look like 204mm width with 35mm offset, will probably have to make triple trees, but may try them as is. Rest of bike is pretty stock but will run Progressive shocks on the back.
Should have real brakes with the 4 pot calipers and floating discs.

You'll be able to make them work Frank, anything can be made to work. What wheels are you using..? I'm in the middle of making a 41mm set of CBF1000 forks work on a 750, biggest pain, after making clamps {i'm going with 50mm offset} is getting everything to fit, spacers, bearings {depending on what wheels you use}, I was lucky, the bearings and seals I needed were over the counter items at the local bearing shop. Then, springs..? What model Kawasaki are they off..? If a big 1100/1200, springs will be a little on the hard side. Then you have to make discs and calipers fit, more spacers and brackets, I'm using a stock speedo so I also have to modify the speedo drive that came with my wheels....

120 17 on front, disc rotors, calipers.. everything there, hope to make the speedo drive works somehow.  Came off a GPZ 1100 I believe..  I have to make a stem whether I use the stock GPZ trees or make new ones..
Sound easier than trying to make my 41mm SV forks work..only have the leg assembles.

The GPZ forks will be longer than the SV forks too, which is a good thing. I'm using 18 inch boomerang comstars on the 41's I mentioned above, everything has to be made to fit, I'm waiting for a speedo drive to turn up in the post, going to try and make it fit, its off a cb900 Honda, same ratio, hopefully there's enough meat on it to simply bore it out a fraction.....
