Stoner to race in Argentina?
« on: March 21, 2016, 11:05:35 AM »
Stoner denies being asked, but told Colin Edwards he was considering racing for injured Danilo Petrucci in Argentina on April 3.

Okay, in case there was any confusion (was there?), I meant Casey Stoner.

I've been hoping for this ever since the rumors started going around that he might race some this season.  I'd love to see him and Rossi go head to head again!  It would be even better if they have a chance to go at it in Austin so I can see it in person.

I think it would be amazing to see him school the entire field, including Marquez and Lorenzo.  If we could see him slide the bike going up into Lukey Heights at Phillip Island, that would be a treat.

I can't say if he's got the jazz to school those two or not. Honestly though, it seemed he left mostly because of the BS involved in the sport and he had my respect for that. Now he's likely making good coin just a step back from all that BS. I think he'd be nuts to fall back into it, even for a race or two, but he's a big boy. It certainly doesn't read like it will happen.

As a fan of the GP wars though, I can't say I wouldn't watch.  ;D

I'd say he's still got the Jazz Brent, he's still the fastest Ducati rider on the planet and was convincingly leading at Suzuka when his bike malfunctioned last year. I think Stoner was the best racer in the paddock, not because I'm an Aussie as well, but because he was fast on any bike they put him on, unlike Rossi... ;)

Agree with that, ballsiest and fastest out there on anything. Living the dream...getting paid zillions to test ride and show the others how it's done...
Will he get a race or wildcard in Aus....dunno, but fk yeh, what a show it'd be

Rats!!  That would have been entertaining.  I am not a huge fan of Stoner off the track, but I've always respected his amazing talent.  He was the ONLY guy to ride the Desmosidici on the ragged edge -- where everyone else was bucked and broken (or nearly broken) from the experience -- and make it a winning bike.
