Victory over oil pressure!!!
« on: March 24, 2016, 11:44:34 AM »
Received my new used oil pump and starter today in the mail.  Installed both, pushed the button and it started right up and the oil light went off.  I already had the tappet caps off on either and and I watched the oil pour into my top end while the bike purred.  Question, is it OK to be aroused by such a situation?
Thanks to our Danish member for helping me through this.

Stryboen,
With the new pump it has pressure.  Seems odd about the other pump not working but it must have been worn out.  Thanks for all your input it really helped.  By the way my father in law is German so I understand your writing completely.

FlyBox,
I love the advice.  I will put it away as you described!!! ;) ;)

Congrats!  Was the pump the first thing you spent money on to resolve your issue?  If so.... that is a BIG win.  Never happens that way for me.

I purchased an oil pump rebuild kit and rebuilt the old one. That was really the only other purchase.  A fellow member here sold me the pump and starter for a great price.

you guys make it sound like a few of these in the oil tank will bring the pressure right up and peg the gauge

In other news regarding crappy pumps and lack of ability / pressure I have a few pumps that have pretty scarred up rotor tips and valleys from junk going through them that will definately kill the efficiency and cause low pressure
