Rear tire width on a 1978 750K
« on: July 19, 2007, 04:01:43 PM »
I can't seem to find info on the largest rear tire size I can fit on my 1978 750k
I am willing to relace the rear hub to a wider rim. I do know that the rear swing arm on the 77-78 are wider than the earlier years.  Would anyone be able to help me out on this info?
my latest update...

Did you do a search?  I know it has come up.  Seems to me that whoever recommended the Bridgestones I bought (and am very happy with), was using a 140.  Take look.

Don't know for sure the max width but the 130 width tire I have on my 78 750K with stock rim size fits fine and performs well.  There is still a bit of space on either side between the tire and the swingarm.  I don't think that I would go any wider than 130 with a stock width rim though.
