K0 vs later seat mounting
« on: March 26, 2016, 07:05:34 AM »
Are the seat mounting hinges on a K0 CB750 in the same spot as later models?  I have an aftermarket seat, a poor man's ducktail, and it seems to have its hinges about 1/2" towards the rear of the seat.  This puts the seat too close to the tank.  It could be that the seat is an aftermarket.  Anybody know for sure ?
Yep, I'm the kid that figured out how to put things back together...eventually.

I bought a 73 'chopper" with a red foam ducktail seat and seems to fit fine.

It's just the aftermarket seat mate, I've got one on my K1 and it's a tight fit as well. ;D

I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

"Crazy is a very misunderstood term, it's a fine line that some of us can lean over and still keep our balance" (thanks RB550Four)

I have encountered a similar problem and resolved it by shaving down the two rubber tank keepers at the front. This moves the tank forward slightly.
