Quick update, I did not get the bike finished last month, disappointing, I know.
I hate giving excuses as much as you guys hate hearin em, but I went on a spur-of-the-moment scuba trip to Cozumel with my buddies last month. No wives! We had a great time.

Then I had been car shopping all month for the wifey, picked this up last week....

She's always wanted a Z car, who am I to argue! Funny thing is, she really doesnt like it that much, but I do.

Thanks guys. Well after the car shopping/buying process, I finally got down to business on finishing up this project.

After a little fine tuning to the carbs [jetting & floats] the bike is a good runner!

Fit the fairing and made a few adjustments to the handle bars and controls and it is FINALLY FINISHED!

I've taken it on a couple short shake down rides, it is running really good. Starts right up, settles down to a steady idle [after warmed up] and has good acceleration, no flat spots.  So happy...

Headed out to shoot some pics at Arrowhead Park [fitting, right?!]

Love that you went with the color of the 60's race fairings on that 1/2 fairing. I've dreamt of something similar for my spare 550.

Hideous.  Ugly.  Yuck, just yuck.

I hate that you feel you have to ride something so visually unappealing.  And just to show you how much of a friend I am, I'm willing to take that bike off your hands.  No longer will your friends make fun of you because you ride an ugly bike...just because I'm that kind of a friend!  ::)

Seriously though, Stev-o.  Awesome bike.  Very very envious!

Yes, I plan to keep, I need a 'racer' in the "collection"! I did not originally plan on painting the fairing silver, but after much research, I saw a similar bike and went with the red/silver scheme.  I think Don had mentioned it first.

Very, very nice, Steve! There is no other bike like her.

Congratulations!

Thanks and thank you for posting the CL ad! It is a unique bike, that was part of the appeal...

Hideous.  Ugly.  Yuck, just yuck.

Friends dont let friends ride ugly bikes?!

That looks good Stev-o,I LOVE that sweeping 1/2 fairing,it has a lot of classic style;do you know anyone who might have a fairing like that for sale?   :)  How do the rear-sets feel to you ?

Will the motor need an extended break-in period ?  :D

I believe the fairing is a Dunstall [or replica], good luck finding one!

The rearsets take a few minutes to get use to, but once the RPM's reach 5000, it feels good!  The handlebars are not ideal, they are not centered on the fairing opening.  May source another option?

Overall, the motor was in good shape, only requiring a valve job [failed the leak down test].  Still has less than 50 miles, I have not babied it.

sweet bike dude!...HA Breadbox for the win

Yeah, I was concerned that tuning might be a bear with the Breadbox, but that wasnt the case. I love the look of it.  The backup stock airbox stayed on the shelf.

Great bike Steve. I'd love to have a go behind that fairing, bet it transforms the ride. Great job amigo!

Although there wasnt much vapor blasting done on this, thanks for bring the Raask rearsets back to life.  [my next project will be different, you've already blasted the complete motor]

Very nice Stev-O, well done man! Looks amazing and I'm sure it goes even better.  :)

Thanks Rick, I'm enjoying it...

Love the homage to the Honda 1960's GP bikes. She's a beauty Steve.

Thanks for suggesting it!!

Agreed, the fairing is the reason I bought the bike.

Does it feel like a stock 750 engine,or more ?

Yes, feels like a fresh, peppy stock 750. Hard to compare though, my K4 is an 836.  Guess I'll have to race Budman, ChrisP or Bryne when we ride!
