The IKONS are superior, but cost about $200 more.

Unsure what model you have, but buying Ikon's from Nils should be much more affordable.

more affordable than what?...Nils' 15% forum member discount is nice, but the Ikons are still quite a bit more than Hagons...not saying they are not worth it.  I have the aluminum bodied, rebound adjustable Ikons on my gold 750 and they are seriously spectacular.  I have the base/standard Hagons on my kz650 and they are very good, especially for about $240 shipped.
If it works good, it looks good...

Of course we are interested. I enjoy seeing how the other half live.  ;D
+1

OK, since you guys asked, here is my excuse why this dang bike is not done yet:

Started back in Mid-Oct, my wife's cousin came to visit.  I just happened to take delivery that weekend of two classic cars for my good friend [he's decided to start a car collection].  1968 Cutlass and a '70 Corvette:

Of course, we had to take them on test drives!

Then we drove to his exotic game ranch and two local wineries for lunch and drinks.

The highlight of the weekend [at least for the girls] was the Heart rock concert in Downtown Austin.  We had 10th row seats...

The very next weekend was the annual Harvest Classic vintage bike show in Luckenbach.  We had a good showing of SOHC's and quite a few forum members that have become good friends. We were there Fri-Sun, camped, rode, ate BBQ and drank til some guy puked! [not me!]
Had a great time!!

The next weekend my nephew [and his girlfriend] from Florida came to visit.
They were attending a wedding but had free time to visit a couple days. He loves bikes and always asks to buy one of my bikes! [Sorry!!]
So I gave them a tour of the Hill Country...

And he begged to drive the Corvette!  OK!!!  [his Dad had one years ago]

Next up was my trip to Belize the first week of Nov.  We stayed in thatched-roof cabana on the beach.  We fished, swam with sharks, and ate and drank like Kings [and Queens]!!  We caught Barracuda and Snapper, the Capt fillet'd em for us and we had them for dinner that night. Wonderful.
Put this fantastic trip on your bucket list.

Sharks in the water below!  The wife would not get in the water!!

After that great but exhausting trip, the wife's other cousin was getting married and of course I was dragged there.  It was in San Antonio which is a couple hours away, so we went for the weekend. I'll spare ya the pics!

And finally, I spent last week visiting my family in Florida for Thanksgiving.
My sister is a greeat cook and had 22 people over for the feast. Weather was great and we spent two days boating on my brother's 37' Formula.
Once again, I'll spare ya the boring familly pics but here is a pic of the boat getting fueled up on the Intercoastal Waterway near Palm Beach

Ok, no more excuses...get the bike done!

TIL, when I grow up, I wanna be Stev-o!  ;D

Great pictures, Stev-o.

(By the way, did you see that Nico Rosberg announced his retirement this week on Monday after winning the F1 DWC?  Took Mercedes by surprise!)

I know you weren't asking me, but I read that yesterday, Ron. As a Ferrari fan... I'm loving life that he left Merc high and dry after pretty much all of the good drivers are under contract for 2017. Go Ferrari!

Just do it.  I'm not a "reel" fisherguy like you, RiverMan, but any reason to be on a boat is good for me. I aksed to fish the reef [which is only a mile off shore there] but the snappers were hittin immediately in the shallows so we just stayed there.
The barracudas were a thrill to catch!

Thanks Ron. Yes, I read that, poor Rosberg couldn't handle the stress?!  I wouldnt feel too sorry for him, he's got $30M in net worth...

BTW - The F1 race in Austin was the same weekend as the vintage bike show so I passed on the race this year.

Don't worry, I'm not a Rosberg fan.  I've actually been a Hamilton fan since he swapped over to MB...back when they weren't winning anything.  It does make me curious to see who they put in the other car next year though.  Promote a young driver or go after someone else?

And I didn't make the Austin race this year either.  I've already decided that I am coming in 2017 though unless something completely unexpected happens.  I'll give you a shout out sometime in the summer and maybe we can meet up somewhere for me to buy you & your family dinner somewhere when I do come out for the race.

My former business fan is a huge Kimi fan and I also like Ferrari so no worries there.  I'll stop sidetracking Stev-o's build now with Formula One talk.

Sorry.  Carry on.

Going to COTA March 25-26th, my brother is racing SCCA [cars] there.
I'll be bringing one of my bikes hoping to get on the track for a ride-around!

The first time I fished salt on the fly was a scene. My guide was probably 19 and barely spoke any English and we were out for an 8 hour day. I have excellent eyes for spotting fish but salt's a different ballgame and it took me a while to adjust. It was a few hours in and I was getting my a$$ handed to me when I put it together. My guide yelled out that there was a permit at 2 o'clock and I started my false casts and as I was making the second false cast he yells out, "Right!!" So I correct a bit and after three false casts I'm ready to throw out 70' but he yells louder, "Right!!" By the time I do a fourth cast it's all over. This went on for three hours. The next time it happened I just dropped the line and said, "Which way am I pointing?" I was pointing to the right. He says, "Left." So it was like I was at work with some of my students. "This is left dude....and this is right." Once we got that sorted I got on my first Bonefish which was silly. I caught a Barracuda and my guide was not happy at all because of the teeth so I dealt with it. I think he was worried I'd get hurt. When we started the day I told him that I didn't care if I only caught one fish the whole day but I really wanted to get into a Tarpon. With about two hours left we found a school of them feeding on a mangrove edge and studied them for 20 minutes before we picked out one. He said, "Whatever you do...don't let it get in the mangroves." Within the blink of an eye of hooking up that fish was so deep in the mangroves I knew it was gone. I knew it was gonna be a smoking run when it started chasing my fly and then crushed it but even I was shocked at how violent it was. It went in the groves and ran to the right and popped out about 40 yards down. How that line held I have no clue. But that's the coolest fish I have ever landed.

That's quite a fish tale, RiverMan! Where were you?  We liked our guides, it was a father and son team, they found the fish quickly and we started drinking soon after!
