Topic: Fuel tank patch?

I have this tank, it's not in that bad of a condition. Inside is going to need a lot of work. I'm here cause it looks like the previous owner might have patched the tank. I'm wondering what you're opinions on it, if it even is a patch job. Mainly would I be better off getting a new tank? Money is getting a little low for this build, so I like the idea of refinishing this tank. I found this body set for $1200 (USD) from yamiya.com. I need an airbox anyway so it looks like a good deal. But if I can salvage this tank and refinish it and order an airbox off eBay, it will be much cheaper. I have some pics

  Best thing to do is de-rust it inside and see if any more major holes develop and then if nothing major give it a good inner seal coat like Caswell or Red-kote. Not a Kreeme fan here but some have had good luck. Looks probably salvageable from what can be seen.
  That looks like solder they used for the patch ?  Better than JB if they did it correctly.
