Topic: 78' CB550 Head Compatibility

Hi Gentlemen, I have been sifting through old threads looking for head compatibility for a 78' CB550.  I recently took a bit off the top while resurfacing on the at mill at my work due to the spindle angle being off a bit  .  Anyway, I'm looking to pick another one up off ebay or otherwise, and the 78's seem to be a bit more rare or are in lesser condition.  Please drop you knowledge upon me!

the heads themselves are the same. only the cam cover was improved with the k3, with the locked rocker shafts. so you could combine your 78 cover (assuming that's a k3 or f2 model bike with the locked shafts) with an earlier model head if that's easier to find.

Actually it was during the K2 the '76 model year that it happned. Here is what you look for: See Below.

See the four extra studs inside the breather cover? That is part of the new and improved head.
