Newbie - PacNW - Portland, OR
« on: March 26, 2016, 07:31:51 PM »
A couple of weeks ago I sold my 92 Honda Shadow chop in search of a new project, last week i stumbled upon a Honda CB750 bobber on craigslist for a deal. I've always loved honda choppers, specially what came out of the 70s. Now that I have the cb750, I have been researching inspiration and how to's and ran across the hondachopper.com website. I was scrolling through the for sale section and ran into a listing by chasdog and there you go, I was looking at the bike that I had just bought. The bike is in good running condition, a few leaks that I need to go over on the engine, nothing seems too serious. Last but not the least the bike will need a rewire, thinking about using the motogadget m-unit. Looking forward to meeting you folks and getting some help and tips on this new journey. My name is JP and I moved to the Pacific NW about 7 months ago from Brooklyn, NY.

Here was my 92 Honda Shadow 600, bought her 4 years ago as a stock bike and has been my daily rider/project. Perfect first bike, taught me a lot.

This is how "The Dark Horse" currently sits.

And this is approximately where I want to go on this build.

complete bike rewire
8+ over girder or springer front end
square tube sissy bar
rigid king queen seat
disc break conversion for the rear wheel
21" front wheel with mini drum breaks
4 to 1 exhaust or 4 to 4 with some upsweep actions

Cheers

Welcome..probably be easier to ride with the forks that are on it, and canhave very good stopping with dualdisc. Be very little ground clearance for the 4-1, but if you go longer on the front you should be OK.
Myself I like the short fork with a big brake, and a highpipe if you can make one..
