I have the same kinda question but with my CB400F boots. I see David Silver sells the boots for #1/4 and #2/3 as separate part numbers. Looking at my, maybe stock original, boots I do not see any markings on them and the appear to angled the same number of degrees and for the same length, they all look identical. Looking at a period parts manual from Honda it also appears that there is no separate part number for the boots. The only part number is for the airbox with the boots attached.
Also when looking at DSS parts photos it appears that the boots are glued/cemented to the airbox. Anyone know the correct/stock Honda setup for the boots?
My 400F is a 1977. PO had siliconed the boots to the airbox so I am not 100% positive about the provenance of the boots, they could be aftermarket or Honda. The boots do have the little lineup nub on them and the airbox still has it's little line up nubs so if I could figure out the 1/2 and 3/4 orientation and whether they are glued on I could put everything back together.
I have pods on it at the moment but am contemplated going back to the stock setup or at least have the stock setup available if the next owner would want the bike stock.
Photo of PO work on the airbox and boots and after a few hours of cleanup. The boots still fit tightly and are pliable but not sure about the glue thing.
