New to SOHC4 net
« on: March 31, 2016, 03:51:22 PM »
I was referred to this forum by a member and have found it helpful.
Hoping to contribute to the discussion.
I was a Honda Dealer mechanic from about 1971- early 80's, so I have a history with
this stuff. Dropped out of the bike wrenching to pursue an engineering career, and
recently became re-involved in the CB750 motor build for Rob's Bimota replica.
Looking forward to some interesting exchange of information.
Jim

Welcome aboard Jim, glad to have you!

What sort of engineering have you been doing?

That motor looks very clean, any special mods going on there or just a stock rebuild?

cheers

Stock rebuild with midrange Megacycle cam, Solid state Ignition.
You have no idea how clean this motor is - bead blast grit gets everywhere , Rob and I spent
lots of time with pressure washing, ultrasonic , solvent and detergent flush, chasing oil passages with
little plastic gun brushes and compressed air. Painful to do right.
