ignition lesson please no spark

Have a cb550f1 which was bought in bits although engine was together have just finished bolting it together being a curious person wanted to see if it fired up and it did of a sort but wouldn't idle would run at about 3k rpm so first port of call thought I'd check points etc following the Haynes manual set them up as as per the manual with a test light light Comes on when points open on the F mark on both sets of points but now have no spark at plugs what should I check next as have 12v at coil

If it runs at 3k, then you've got spark. Idle issue sounds like it will be carbs at this point, though it's important to know what your compression is across all 4.

Since spark is gone after checking points, are condensers good? No oil or grease on points? Have you filed them down so there's good metal-metal contact? Is your static timing set properly?

Also, points shouldn't be "open" when on the "F." They should be closed and the F is when the electricity travels through them. If they're open, that's why your idle has died. Not sure what you mean when you say "open."

Last obvious point - battery charged?

it sparks that moment the platin kontakt brakes open.and only that milisecund..so be very care to get adjusted it korrekt
.you load the coil up by closed kontakt,,then by open it..the elektromagenet fiels kolaps..and make a break dovn effekt in the coil vho is konnekted to  that platin kontakt..vho generated a big elektric chok.(inside the coil).(it then fires that 2 plugs vho is vires to that coil..and that spec platin braker...the other platin/braker drives the other coil..and its 2 set of plugs..so a lot of vast sparks is generated...as this system not have a car type dispuratør..
knikser kontake make a konnektiom to frame..and your coil already have 12 v from the egnision key..this power flows through the yellow or blue vire..dovn to the knikser kontakt..and on to knikser and then to the frame...make a pover flow in the coils...(but only as long the knikser kontakt is closed)..thats it are called a breaker/platin kontakt...it cuts a flow..vho make a spark..then it start load the coil up..as soon the kontakt is shut/closed again..the shut/closed,, time is DVELL time..can be messures by a special elektric meter..but not a kritical on this type engines
