There are tubes welded in.  ;)  I wouldn't compromise the structure just for aesthetics.  We'll.....................not knowingly!   And yes, I realize that I have not "lightened" anything.  The tubes and welds weigh more than the material removed.   :o
Well why didn't you say so in the first place!?! Making us all worry needlessly about you  ::)  ;)

"Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of it's victim may be the most oppressive. It may be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated, but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience." - C.S. Hello everyone!
I'm finally getting back to this project.
I would like to purchase a new fuel tank and would like some advice.
I'm a little hesitant to make a purchase without getting feedback from you guys.
TIA

As I recall, you were going for a cafe aesthetic.

Assuming you do not want a stock or modified tank, you could of course look for someone to fabricate an aluminum tank for you.  If you want a race style tank, you might inquire with Denis Curtis at CMR in Canada.

I apologize for not being clear.
I would like to purchase a original style tank.  Places like David Silver and Vintage CB750 have such tanks.
My question is, what quality are these tanks and/or has anyone used them?

+1 on Yamiya. They are not cheap, BUT when you take into the account of a great condition tank, professional body and paintwork, accurate color paint, emblems, decals, etc. -- then it's actually a solid deal. https://www.yamiya750.com/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=157
