Collection finished :). Or... Im not sure :)
« on: April 11, 2016, 10:50:41 AM »
Got these three babies 99 pct finished now.. :) dont know if I should collect and restore more, not enough space, and I feel each of them require a little attention now and then , plus some driving to feel loved :)

All three is 1975 cb 500 K1.  All have been registered in Denmark from new.  Two is close to original, with original colours, and the last one with a little sporty 70/80 style . It have a laser 4-1 with a super good sound, and then flake paint.

- How many can a man have :) ?

Nice collection you have there. I understand your struggle.
You will ,if you keep collecting , get to the point when you can't keep them all ridden. That's when maintenance issues come into play, mainly fuel related like sour gas kind of stuff. Gotta love doing carbs, if not, no worries , you'll get good at it.
Insurance probably won't be a big deal. My progressive insurance allows me 7 bikes on each contract, comes in at around $250 for both contracts. The first reg in NY is the more expensive one because you pay for title transfer ($50 plus reg and plate), after that ,it's a yearly lower reg renewal cost on each bike ($20) when you have title. Housing them safely  in a decent environment  and keeping up with the polishing and wax  . It can be some work. Did I say nice collection?

in denmark you have to pay reg for evry sinkel bike.
.so i have 4 plates and pay for 4 bikes ..i have veteran status , so 4 month are free..(but i cant not ride the bikes in this 4 vinter month..i have 3 more bikes ready for reg..but have not finance to ride them...
its a hell to hold kaburettors and fuel systems good..just to hold tires..brake fluid.engine oil filters..on and on..

3 bikes is optimal..then you can sell one.(if you got a perfekt deal).and start a procjekt on a new vishing bike..and still have 2 on road..in the build time

Very nice collection.  It becomes a little bit difficult to properly exercise multiple bikes if you have a full time job and you do not commute via motorcycle.

Especially if you live in a four season climate, Then you're only looking at a 5 month riding window. And 7 months were you only can wish you could be riding.
  Bikes don't like that either.
You'll want a battery tender for sure.

You can get a multi-bank battery tender and extension cables, so you don't have to have multiple tenders.
