Engine progress
« on: April 11, 2016, 12:12:24 PM »
So, this is my first project thread, and it's going to be fairly short. I bought my 78 750k from an acquaintance for $500. She was in marginally running condition, and had been cut down to a kinda half-cafe racer with mostly factory bones. A factory restoration was not an option, so I decided to just take the cafe thing to the end of the chain. I've spent the winter tearing down and cleaning, and I'm finally in rebuild mode. Here's my engine with some fresh paint and powder coat. There's some minor cleaning up to do, but I'm thrilled with the result. This engine was covered in 37 years of road grime and baked-on oil.

The motor looks good.  I might paint the HONDA black to give it some more contrast.

Ooh, absolutely. I may paint the cutout behind it instead.

That motor looks AWESOME!!! Nice job. if you did paint the backing behind the "HONDA" black it would be sweet. However, I'm pretty sure it's going to be sweet either way... Nice job.

Thanks for the encouragement and ideas, guys. I did my primary remount this afternoon, and got the front fork/wheel in place. I'll be sure to keep posting with my ongoing progress.
