this bike doesn't look quite right

Special order paint?  It also has k0 front forks, a new honda k1 seat, new gas tank trim, new engine hardware, k0 cylinder jugs(maybe early K1 too), gauges look new not 40 years old, too much yellow torque paint.... Anyone else see anything off?  I have a low milage K1 and it definitely looks 40 years old.  I just have a problem with the fact that someone is biiding on this bike due to his story of the special paint and low mileage and its not right.  I guess karma will get him

Looked like engine covers are polished. No clear coat. Front brake lever clear coat is yellow. Clutch lever doesn't seem to have covering. Is the master cylinder cap right for k1 ?

Kev doesn't miss much with these old bikes.  He's HondaMan's padawan for a reason.

I've never heard of "special order paint" for these bikes. However, silver was an Euro color.

Buy the bike, NOT the story.

The fins on the cylinders have a casting mark in the center the fins look thicker where the casting marks are.  The became flat with no casting marks early k1 production.

Has a very nice looking K3 and a higher mileage good looking K6 on his other auctions. See he already sold a Planet Blue K5 in his completed auctions also. Any of you Cheeseheads ever heard of that railroad museum or been there ?  http://www.ebay.com/sch/cyclehooptrain/m.html?item=201559197611&rmvSB=true&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2562

"Special order paint" - never happened. Looks like a Yamiya repro set to me. This ole boy may be full of huey.
From everything I've read, the silver paint was not introduced until K2. They had chrome fork ears in every picture I've seen of the silver bikes.

Looked through the list of donors on their webpage.  Wasn't John DeBeck the guy who had the Vintage European Japanese Motorcycle Club the tried to ruin the VJMC ?

Any back story to share on that ?  Hopefully it involves sex, corruption, power struggles and other good juicy stuff !

Looks like they ordered pipes and a lot of new screws from Yamiya too.
To me the bike has obviously been restored or at the very least has been majorly "refreshed".  ::)
Like the man said, buy the bike not the story...

If I remember correctly he was on the VJMC board.  Problems developed and he started the other club.  I was a member of the VJMC already, but I joined the VEJMC because I also own a BSA.  He was really ragging on the other club, saying there were irregularities in the finances and other problems.  His club did not last too long and he folded it up.
