Topic: Pricing a CL200

Hey dudes, I've got a 1974 CL200. I've had it for a few years after taking it off my friend's hands. My plan is to fix it (exhaust is shot but I see partzilla has it new for $200, great deal in my opinion). Needs a carb clean and sync and it weeps oil from the cam cover, probably just an o-ring.

I can't find any on Craigslist or eBay to see what people sell these things for. They are rare as they made them for only one year, and this one is in good condition (not great, but good) with about 9k miles. I remember it ran very well but my friend got a girlfriend and she's the devil so he stored it at my house and lost interest.

I'm not thinking they'd sell for any more than $2000 but wanted to see your thoughts. I'm in southern CT (Fairfield county) and people have money here, just not me.

I sold my very nice '74 CB125 for $1700 if that helps.

Hey Dave...condition is everything.  Does it have original paint? Title??
If yes to both those and you get it running good with no issues, I could see it going for close to $2000.

I didnt even know they made a CL200.  Got pics?

Weirdly, this is the only pic I have of it, even though it's on my own property...


The paint is original and it has a title, so that's good news. The tank has a couple dents in it, though.

When I get to working on it I'll post up some more pictures. It's a beautiful little bike.

Looks good, that would easily sell fit $2K around here.

 That should slot right into a Honda collector's wish list who is not looking for the large mass produced bigger machines but maybe the hard to find low volume 1 or 2 year run smaller cc bikes. If that pic is your bike be patient and test the waters with a little bit of a large asking price.

Imo, list it high on CL first and see what happens.
If that attracts too many low-ball flakes you can always ebay it.

+1.  I always list $100-200 higher than I want, that way if you get an offer, everyone is happy [buyers like to think they negotiated a deal!]
