A great loss.  :'( The Hag was one of my favorite singers, R.I.P. Merle.
There just aren't many good country singers like him left any more.  I often wonder, who will fill their shoes?

He was a great patriot as well..

I met him briefly. First I met a guy off his bus who I thought would get an autograph on my j-45. He said he had been with him since'65. I said I had been born since about then. He said Merle will be walking right by in about 5 minutes, why don't you ask him.  No problem, Merle was cool with it. Miss that guy ... :(

I guess I posted a pic of it just before I got Merle's autograph, not sure if I can find a pic after. First to 'defile' the sunburst was George Jones.

It fell and the headstock broke off for about the fourth time shortly after Merle signed it. I bought it with a crappy repair but I never had any trouble making it play.
