Frozen centerstand removal
« on: June 21, 2019, 08:06:36 am »
The tube in a tube, rusted together centerstand. I bent the mounting flanges outward, removed the bolts but that left the flanged end to deal with. I took a large countersink and drilled the end of the tube until the flange came off, then pried the other end out of it's bracket and popped the whole thing out where I can use oxy acetylene to get them apart. I'll either weld a washer on or more likely use a new pivot tube with a cotter pin in each end.

The hot tip part is when you clean up don't wipe up the dirt quickly and end up with a hand full of razor sharp needles made by the drilling. Start with a magnet carefully. L0L.
No matter how many times you paint over a shadow, it's still there.
