750 seat trim
« on: April 15, 2016, 06:51:26 AM »
Before I buy...have any of you tried this seat trim and how do you like it? A bit pricey at $70, but need to be sure the quality and original style is there.

scouring the web last night for CB750 parts, I ran across some new seat trim for $8, I think. That's crazy cheap.

Have not bought the trim, (Yeah, I know, that helps immensely  ::) ) but have bought a lot of 2 stroke stuff from HVC and they are a top notch outfit and have never had a problem with the quality of their stuff.

By the way I am fine with gluing it on as the PO broke off all the OEM tabs that held the other in place. Here is the cheaper one $8...a lot cheaper than the $70 one, but not sure if this is will stand up or crack.

Johnie, et. al.,

Yep the HVC part number HVC-SEATTRIM-MOLD
is the one I bought.  And Yes It's Pricey at $78.xx, but it is Identical to the original seat trim.
HVC sometimes takes a while to ship this part, I guess cause they don't sell many.  LOL

Just need to make sure you leave a little space for the tacks or alligator strips.

Also, it does NOT need Glue to put it on and keep it there.

That $70 trim is for the seat cover type that originally came with the chrome trim being part of the seat cover. The pan for this type of seat cover doesn't have alligator teeth that poke through the vinyl and fold over, it has large tabs that fold over and catch on the ledge that the $70 chrome trim has. If you are using alligator teeth strips the $8 trim is gonna work just as well!

So I went with the HVCycle trim and it really worked and looks good. Since the PO broke off all the clips I used JB Weld to hold it in place. Sure it was pricey, but looks so good I am really happy with how it turned out on this K3.

LOOKS GOOD!!!!!

Can you take a picture of the underside of the seat?????
That would help others to see how it went together.

Nice Job!!!!!
