Measurement of float height - CB750 F1
« on: November 10, 2006, 10:37:16 AM »
Hi Group
Is the measurement made to the surface were the gasket seats or to the notch in the outer lip of the carb? The other end of the measurement is made to the bottom of the float.
Reading some previous topics some said that they measured to the gasket surface. I can not imagine Honda measuring to a crushed gasket. But this does split the difference.

You have to remove the gasket and measure at the metal surface where the gasket seats.

Hi Group
I am surprised that there has been so little interest in this question.
I have been looking in all manuals that I could find to download for the answer to this question. The measurement is made to the carburetor body. Looking a pictures of the factory u shaped measuring tool I would say that it would not go down to the gasket surface.
My plan is to make a u shaped measuring device out of card stock that sits on the notches in the carburetor body.
