I kinda see it the other way...
I think we're agreeing, but from different standpoints. I have no doubt that Rossi is happy to see Lorenzo go, and I agree that the Ducati that Lorenzo is going to is vastly different to the one Rossi switched to years ago. I'm just saying, for Lorenzo's sake, he needs to do this to get out from under Rossi's shadow. It doesn't matter if it's Ducati or not, he needs to go to another factory and win to prove that he can do it. He could stick with Yamaha and get several more championships under his belt (possibly) and go down in history as Rossi's teammate who also won a lot of championships, or he can switch teams, hopefully get several more championships, and go down as one of the greatest in the sport, on his own, with no asterisk by his name.
Regardless of the outcome, I am really hyped by the changes that Lorenzo's switch will make in the following seasons. This is a true top-down change that will affect all three classes, and I can't wait to see what happens!
