BMW K100 possible buy
« on: April 22, 2016, 01:26:05 AM »
Have been offered a 1985 K100
good points, it's cheap, $500
bad points:
"starter motor needs replacing" have done a little research, it could be the sprag"

are these bikes any good, I would have preferred a twin, actually don't need another bike but the price is appealing.
looking possibly for a quick fix then flick it off but you never know.

I would go for it in a heartbeat!

I rode a friends K1 and fell in love with it.....you might not even want to flip it, who knows?

Had both a K75 and a K100 and absolutely loved them. Very different bikes to our SOHCs and I can imagine few bikes better to travel the roads with comfort and sporty aplomb than a K-bike.

"Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of it's victim may be the most oppressive. It may be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated, but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience." - C.S. Lewis
