BTW I'm not home but not far. This was an interesting one. As one on the same storm cell diminished this one just popped up, and Looks like's it's going to be real close to my house.

Wait, it's North of Robinson street so unless it does something uncharacteristic I'm [my house] a half mile South of Robinson and very close call.

It would be a bit more exciting if I was home. They are saying it is a f1 which is not as bad a deal.

In a way it's an exciting distraction;  beats the two and a half men reruns for TV. But when your house gets blown away it's even more of a distraction.

Not sure if they do streaming but kfor.com  ktvy  koco you might see real time stuff from tornado chasers. Other than that the radar link above has it and if you click near the watch boxes it will enlarge the area.

When I was stationed at Fort Sill, down in Lawton, I witnessed a lot of warnings, but never really seen a tornado.....Thank God.

This is an interesting storm cell. Not the strongest, but Moore, OK is getting hit again right now. Their second time this year, they have had mile wide ones there before, their average in getting hit is better than once a decade in my lifetime, maybe closer to every five years.

There is a church a few miles from here that a few years ago got hit twice in one week by a tornado, both were maybe F2's but still strong enough to pull the roof off half the church and destroy everything inside the half that had it's roof taken off. Both tornado's took almost the exact same path, I can't help wonder what the odds were on that. Anyhow faux I hope you and your home is safe.

I went for a buzz around  the damage areas on the two stroke. Lots of telephone poles kiltered, some on the ground. I rode over some cables and under others just 10' off the ground.  Trucks backed up on i35 for miles, some got blown over to the north in OKC.

I went by my house and everything is okay, I unlocked the garage for the lady across the street so she could use the fradie hole if it got close again.

Mostly minor damage, no homes completely leveled that I saw but other places weren't as lucky. A friend took a picture of me in front of her tree  busted over  in the yard. There were some apartments under construction that had trusses twisted up.  We had no rain for quite a while, a mile north had 3" in an hour places locally had an 8"-9" dump. Flash flooding with the typical idiots driving into it.

All in all there must have been at least a dozen tornados, some lasted only 5 minutes.

Might be more tomorrow, and all week but southwest of us tomorrow and back on top of us Saturday.

The year I built my shop, I had relatives visit, a rope twister went through the block across the street, we saw tree branches go up into the rain. My shop has doors facing 3 directions and rain was blowing in all three ways at once. The next day i looked out back and the cattails in the creek were flattened in a swirl pattern like a crop circle and the little birch tree in back was now just a stick. I had been within 30 feet of another one and never saw it, it was wrapped in rain. minor damage across the street, it picked up a pool house and set it on it's roof but all the chairs, tables and floats were still stacked as if it was still there.
No matter how many times you paint over a shadow, it's still there.

They can be pretty violent in a tiny area.  One of the ones I remember that went through Moore OK  a long time ago only  took out about the middle 20'  of an apartment building.

Tonight about 7 the Radar showed rotation within a mile of the house but not sure if anything touched down here.  I watched  winds of about 50 MPH blowing both directions at the same time, water blowing off the roof across the street in a different direction than mine was.

Hail at my house was the size of plums. Some places very nearby had a blanket of ice on their yards.

As predicted it wasn't as strong of storms as last night.

Tomorrow morning they are predicting some of the heaviest weather to blow in from the Pacific storm a day ago.

Douche of the day is shaping up here .

http://radar.weather.gov/ridge/Conus/southplains_loop.php

Creeks are already out of their banks several feet, we've had areas with 6" in six hours.  We're also in the middle of a severe chronic drought. ::) ??? :P

The worst tornado was one that dropped  in Oklahoma City and spin in the same place for about 10 or twelve  minutes.

There was only one death; a mother of four stuck in her storm shelter. Water started rushing in and she couldn't get out. Water outside  must have been up to her neck when it started pouring in. :'(

NOAA is posting Tornado watch boxes again tonight. No sirens yet, and seems unlikely it will do it here.

http://radar.weather.gov/radar.php?product=NCR&rid=TLX&loop=yes

This last three weeks has been like tropical rainforest weather. We have had more rain in three weeks than in the previous year. We're going to get enough rain tonight to give us the wettest may on record, and another quarter inch and it will be the wettest of any month ever on record.

Here we go again.  The new maps narrow down the likelihood to locations and they also predict strength, these predicted are strong at f4. Tomorrow afternoon could get interesting.

Not saying it can't happen where I live now but I don't find myself dodging wall clouds as much as I did when I lived in Doodah Land.
It seems the wind has followed me up here though lately.

Man, we got some golf ball sized hail this morning (luckily not that much) but my buttocks were in full clench mode when it sounded like hammers were raining on my roof. Tonight is gonna be interesting.  :o

Here we are almost a year later and all of a sudden is all you can get on the radio is a weatherman and he's telling you the path of a tornado and projecting that if it stays on the ground until 5:09 pm it  will be right near your house, close enough to damage it.

The other day when they predicted the most likelihood for severity it fizzled out mostly.

But today I was out running errands in traffic in the projected  path.  As flawed as it sounds my plan was blast off to Moore, OK and be north of it. (Moore is the town that has been mostly wiped out twice in twenty years.)

It fizzled out today before it got close, but it was kind of frantic for a bit.

There have been some of the most photogenic storms I've ever seen photographed in the last day or so. Scroll down past 3/4 of the way at this site to April 28 wall cloud photos at this website:

http://pics.news9.com/gallery/recent

I can't seem to copy any links to individual photos.
