SS lines for cb550k? Where to buy?
« on: April 27, 2016, 09:50:19 PM »
Looking to replace my old rubber lines for some SS....but can't find a seller :/ slingshot cycles website doesn't appear to be working and i'm also struggling to find a solution to accommodate the break light switch that the upper and lower connect to......also what about the hardline?

Email Shaun at Slingshot, he can hook you up if stock, otherwise you have lots of measurements for non stock setups.

Shaun is on hiatus for a bit. I emailed him a couple weeks back to see if he wqs still making lines even though the site was down and he said he's setting up a new shop and finding a new host for the website. You could go the route of a ss line and brake switch that will run from the MC to the original brake switch wires.

is what I purchased for my 78. Direct route into the the caliper and only one line. Also bought the pressure switch and that screws into the MC. Installed a speed bleeder as well and works great thud far.

Try your local brake and clutch repair shop, I did and they did a great job and at a reasonable price.

Call up Raymond from www.rennsportautoparts.com

He does custom lines with different colors and fittings. I've gotten a few lines from him and I like them a lot.

Another vote for Slingshot if you can get anything at this point.  More than happy with the service and the product.

Slingshot responded to me a couple weeks ago that he's not making lines at the moment. I ordered from HEL, good prices, fast shipping, exactly what I needed.

Sorry that was a typo. HEL brake lines... I did stock two lines, but eliminated the hard line at the caliper.

Nice to see you get a decent service from HEL on your side. I've dealt with them over here and had nothing but grief. They sent a wrong set for my F2 with only one front line in it and blamed me for ordering incorrectly, arguing that all sohc's were single disc and I was either stupid or had a dohc and couldn't tell the difference. The next time I needed lines, for the SRX, I used a different supplier and they sent the wrong ones too. When I called them, they told me they used the patterns from HEL for their kits :o
