Hey guys, I've been lurking for about 8 months but I finally did something worth posting! I finally got my carbs to work, namely the accelerator pump pushing some fuel through it.
I took apart my carbs probably 4 times and each time I still had fuel coming through the overflow. I used carb cleaner, carb dipping stuff, and I even got a crappy little ultrasonic cleaner from harbor freight, all to no avail. I used compressed air, and a combination of solvents but nothing really worked. But I finally managed to unclog the accelerator pump by just going to each passageway and putting the can of carb cleaner on any holes in the carb body and pinching the outside of it to seal whatever hole I was blowing carb cleaner through.
Anyway, just something I wanted to share after 8 hours of work, since there isn't a hole lot on the 1977 carbs online.
