So I have this friend ... NO really !
« on: April 22, 2016, 10:58:23 am »

That (against my better judgement) purchased this CB175 about 2 years back.  It has barely been ridden since purchase.

It's pretty clean and cute, and I did get it to run without too much trouble, but as with all old bikes it needs some tender loving care.
I recommenced a new chain and sprockets immediately, as the chain is loose and actually over adjusted to the max.
The carbs have a tendency to overflow (drain tubes) on occasion also.  About all they did was purchase was a new rear tire.

Unfortunately, the young owner has neither the expertise, nor the patience to provide the care and maintenance necessary.

Also, as to the patience part, it looks like it may soon be thrown to the wolves on Craigslist.

Sounds as if they'll be looking for the best offer, located in the northern suburbs of Detroit MI.
It will not be parted out.

If anyone around here is at all interested shoot me a PM.  I can request that I be kept informed, or maybe include a link once it's hits the market ?

It would be a shame to chop that up.

Those bikes are about as much fun to ride as any bike I've ever been on..........

I have no idea.

Like I said, the bike was purchased as is, I just helped them get it running, oh ... and teach them how to start it.

She does look like a nice little bike. My first new Honda was the 1972 CL175. Great bike which I outgrew pretty fast. This could be a nice starter for someone too.

We had two 175's when I was in high school and through college: a '70 CB175 and a '71 SL175. The SL came first and belonged to me, the CB was my dad's. He sold it about 4-5 years ago, stupidly I did not buy it.
