New 1976 CB750F1 owner
« on: May 01, 2016, 09:44:14 AM »
Hello to all, I just found this very original one owner Antares Red 1976 CB750F1 that was well stored inside but needs some TLC.  13000 miles. Only real issue is that the front brake sticks, the rear brake doesn't work at all, side covers cracked(one missing) and original exhaust replaced with Drag specialty side pipes. I found an original exhaust, no rust but needs chroming. Yellow torque paint still showing all over the bike after 40 Years!

Excited to find this great vintage and powerful machine.
Bike had pod filters with Drag Specialties exhaust, must have been jetted right cuz its running a bit sluggish with the original airbox back on.  Bike shifts well, sounds neat, but I think I will unload the side pipes and would love to find an RC Engineering period 4/1 or similar.  Plans also include switching bars and cables to Euro spec that matches the spirit off this machine.

Welcome to any input on bringing this machine back into check.

Thanks Everyone,
Guzziman

Thanks all. I did post two pics can you see them? I'm in Michigan in the northern belt where motorcycles only get used part of the year then show up with low mileage 40 years later!
Thanks for tip on front brake. The back brake has zero resistance on the pedal. Maybe there is no fluid at all in there?

Looking forward to riding in June!
Cheers!

It's chrome, I dont know model numbers. It's at my storage, I'll snap a pic next time I'm over there.
Really dont want to sell, plan using it one day.

Adding pic that didn't come through originally.  Interested in seeing pic of your RC engineering chrome header Steve0. Thanks.
Checked carbs and it looks like I have 064A carbs that are not listed anywhere.  Wonder what original specs were. I have a very early 1976 built in June 1975. Thanks all.

Thanks for the link which indicates much finer tuning of idle jet mixture.  I was hoping to find specs for pilot, main jets, jet needle and how many turns out for the idle air screw which apparrntly has s much finer thread. Should require more turns out from seated than a 1975 model me thinks
Thanks

Manual (750F supplement)  says 105 main, 40 slow, air screw 1 3/8 turns (although it also says 1 1/8 right below that), float 26mm.

Shop manual available here: http://www.honda4fun.com/materiale-documentazione-tecnica/shop-manual
