Russ Collins' triple blew me away the first time I saw it in 1973 or so. It was featured in Cycle magazine in 1974. I've been trying to snag it off eBay for some time, but it always went through the roof for pircing. Got one by a reasonable BIN from a seller. Anyway here are a few highlights from it.

That's the name of the bike. Russ named it after the train line.

you see... my mind did not automatically go there as i've lived in kansas and new mexico. it all makes so much more sense now

that is a wicked bike... back from the days that i was just a wee little tyke.

so... let's say that bike was carburetted... would you need to synch all 12 or would synching each set of 4 suffice?

Yeah as living in Topeka, had to check out the threrad. Figured the name was for the triple engine set up.

Russ ran into a lot of issues with the triple and went to a twin supercharged version called the Sorcerer. I much preferred the triple for its wretched excess. There were a lot - a real lot, a whole bunch of double engined Hondas campaigning. His was the first to break 200 mph in the quarter. The triple never seen that, but then the three engines were in a comparatively mild state of tune compared to the higher strung and volatile twin engine setups.

I have articles on the Sorcerer coming so will post them when they arrive, if you like.

Collins used those 3 engines as a base for a coffee table after he wrecked the bike and almost killed himself.

Well that is what I always thought. That the triple was destroyed in an accident. I was unaware that it was around yet, to even been bought off of Ebay. I do know the Scorcer replaced it.
