Honduras one of the poorest countries in the world
Switzerland one of the richest countries in the world

it would take a special kind of idiot to compare them .

Are you saying the presence of citizens owning guns makes countries wealthy while impoverished countries banned from owning guns causes poverty? Interesting...

I always love the comparisons to Switzerland that come from the American gun folks, because they either don't know or don't tell you that: all Swiss citizens have to do mandatory military service; all Swiss firearms are registered and people have to go through thorough background checks; but best of all, despite the fact that most Swiss households have firearms, there is no ammunition in circulation -- you have to request it in advance, not just purchase it at your local Walmart. So, sure, let's let the USA be more like Switzerland.

@Simon -- I think the comparison is supposed to be valid because the populations are about the same number, so all other factors must be considered equal. It makes a lot of sense to me too.

Perfect! Seems a great topic to poke fun at since its such a polarizing issue. Best way to get along is to pile on (from both sides!) Jokes only please, no emotion. Or please refrain-

Fair enough then! I did laugh at this reply  ;D Obviously humor differs for everyone, and sometimes it takes a while (at my age) to get the joke. So, joke's on me this time.  :-[

Guns don't kill people. People kill people. To think otherwise, would require the banning and confiscation of all spoons and forks.

Why? Because spoons and forks cause obesity.  =8-)
