yes we have them in europe. that's the one i mentioned that i had. it's a good one.
But what about the terminals? I need the 'conventional' terminals.
What I don't like about AGM is that I cannot check how long that battery has already been 'operative' on the shelf. When I fill a conventional battery, that's when it's lifecycle begins and not before.

AGM will last much longer than a lead acid any day of the week and will be more stable longer and hold a charge better.

Even if a AGM is 3 years old it will still hold a stronger charge than a 3 year old lead acid battery to the point that you could probably put it into your bike and start it up.

I honestly wouldn't worry about the age of a AGM battery as they charge up fast and last much much longer.

So I have a DEAD Scorpion.

Its three years old and was not used for the past two years. (400 miles of total use).  It presumable fully discharged and will not recharge.  Anyone have this problem? Supposedly there are some tricks on recharging a dead AGM?  i am using a 1.5 amp charger that has float settings (i think). After I hook up the charger it indicated that its charging, but after a day it indicates to "check or replace battery". tried it 2x.

I was going to shell out money for another charger that claims to be specialized for AGM, but might just buy a new battery.

This KMG battery has great reviews, and looks like its coming from the Scorpion factory- same molding, same specs, etc. Only $47 bucks shipped and great reviews!

I dont think you should expect it to last more that 3 years [although it could]

I would just order a replacement.

try to hold a primitive tharger on for some 15 minuts..then svap back to the elektronic controlled type..often total flat batteries can not start loading ,,,and elektronic loaders can not start load if there not is some bit of poweer  to give a indikation of the pos and neg terminals..and the load kondision of the battery.or use some start vires to trix the loader to beleve that there is a funktion battery..and after it starts loading just pull the ekstra battery.(.be care of sparks)
i kan not speak english/but trying!!

I agree with Strynboen.

A month ago I purchased and AGM battery for my Yamaha XS650, a unit which was supposedly shipped fully charged.  When it arrived I put a meter across it and got 8.4 volts.  I attached a Battery Tender for 24 hours...still 8.4 volts.  I found an article in an old version of Hot Rod magazine which had interviewed a technician from an AGM battery manufacturer and his response to charging issues was, if chargers can't detect at least 10.2 volts in a battery they assume that there is no battery and won't cycle on.  The tech recommended hooking the battery in parallel with a good battery and attaching the charger to the good battery.  I tried it with my 25 year old bulk charger and within 45 minutes was looking a 11.9 volts on the AGM and another hour had it topped off.  The technique worked great, probably to the chagrin of those selling those $100 hoochie koochie chargers.
