No difference between gun control and steering damper........just use both hands either case!

Take both hands off the bars at 45mph on decel and see!
Nonsense, both should work fine two handed or one handed. Haven't figured out the no hands thing with gun yet;)

I think he's just saying you're a fun guy Jimmy, which is nice, he just wasn't sure about the spelling. (he's probably foreign) ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

I was thinking he was going for the Canadian male name Guy, which sounds like Gee. But I'm probably wrong.

Or maybe he meant Jimmy was a fungus? Seems an odd description...

Probably a fungi.

Possibly also a clarified butter, or a karate uniform.

In damper news, mine arrived, but I'm in no rush to install it, so I'm taking the time to consider all options.  I'm leaning towards installing it on the left, and connecting to a fork leg bracket that's clocked to place the attachment point to the inside of the left fork tube, sort of mimicking the geometry of George's setup.

I spend a considerable amount of time regarding alignment, symmetry of stroke left to right, and maximizing the lock to lock equally from side to side.  My earlier pics show a full left and a full right extension.  If you look close, you will see I am a little less than 1/8" short of the stops on each direction.  My application is a street able road racer, so I intend to shorten the lock to lock anyway.

It uses a later 50mm lower tree that has the big holes and machined the bronze fitting at the tree and the 5/8" steel rod threaded for the damper.  This leaves zero potential for slippage of a bolt on bracket, as it's welded in.  But you need to be very confident regarding the right positioning before committing to weld.

I chose left side for the simple reason that if, for some reason, I want to alter the damper setting while riding, I'd rather have my throttle hand on the grip and use my left for the adjustment.

Seems safer and more natural to me.

George
