If it were insured it would belong to the insurance company upon recovery. I'm making sure I have GPS locators on any bike I ride.

How does a guy with your stolen bike know to contact you? Don't the police have to find it and notify you first?

Interesting you should ask! I asked him the same thing. He said the DMV (County Clerk here) told him the bike was registered to me and gave him the address. He left me a note to call. The DMV did not show it as being stolen, but when he contacted his local police after our conversation, they did. Go figure! Seems the DMV should be one of the first to know....

That sucks. Sounds like you weren't very high on their priority list eh?  Glad that you got it back tho.
