Delkevic 4 into 1 exhaust for CB400F
« on: May 11, 2016, 11:10:37 AM »
Hey guys

Considering getting a 4 into one exhaust for my CB400F. The natural choice was to go for a Mac 4 into 1 but after talking to Delkevic they informed me that they have a prototype 4 into 1 exhaust coming out in about 10 days time. They already do one for the CB550F but it looks like if all goes well after testing that they will have one for the CB400F in about 4 weeks time.
Anybody have one fitted on there CB550? ? if so would you recommend ?

i haven't seen one on a 550, but several users have one on their 750s and are very happy with them for the price

HEy Jimbo, I have a full 4-1 for my CB750 and the build quality is awesome, Nice Polished staniless and if you get the whole system it comes with everything you'll need. Mine had all the springs (even a cool little spring install tool, even used it for my carbs)...ha-ha., all the brackets, including center stand stop and mounting, etc. Nice muffler, removeable baffle and their customer support is awesome.

I think you'll be extremely happy with it, I've never had a mac but for about the same price I've heard the quality is no comparison. Best of luck, let me know if you need any pictures or have questions.

Hi Jimbo, agree best go stainless rather than a Mac, but also have you looked at a  Predator system? I've had one on my commuter 400f for years and it is excellent quality, UK made too. Access to oil filter etc is good, centre stand is retained too (unlike the exotic MC-Again system), ground clearance is great, sounds ace & has 10 year guarantee.

I will be keeping a close eye on these new pipes from Delkevic as I was actually about to buy a set from Yamiya in Japan http://www.yamiya750.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=274_195_231&products_id=2733 I'm worried these will be too loud for everyday use.
So I think I might wait a few more weeks and see how these turn out first.

Good exchange rate. I like the Yamiya chrome pipe and I am also a Delkevic fan. Depends on what options we have to choose from.

Those Yamiya pipes have a baffle in them, so I wouldn't think excess sound would be a problem.

Looking into picking up a cheap 400f poject that's missing an exhaust, this info was great, that pipe looks awesome.

I wonder about the leaned over clearance, I hope it is ample as those bikes are so much fun!

Hey Jimbo, you have sold me on this delkevic header and muffler exhaust system...it looks sooooooooo good!
But that muffler looks a bit slimmer to the megaphone one they are advertising it with on the UK delkevic website. Did you change that? Looks great.
I'm going to call the australian delkevic distributor and see if they can order one in for me.
Thanks for posting this up on the forum mate.
Happy riding, JP.

No probs Jp. I'm unsure if it's on the website yet as I was working closely with a guy called harry who kept me in the loop with updates on when it arrived in the uk and as soon as it did I ordered it and it arrived the next day. The exhaust is slimmer but don't let that fool you as it's loud as #$%* !!! And that's even with the baffles in. You can get it with a straight cut exhaust like the one I have or get the cone shaped exhaust. Either way I'm sure you won't regret the purchase.

Jimbo, Is your bike running and if so would you mind posting a video or letting me know how loud the Delkevic system is? I just ordered one for my 350f and need to know if I should install it pre or post inspection.

That looks excellent. I really like these Delkevic systems. They seem very nicely made and for a good price. I'm not crazy about the clamps that come with them. Superficial, I know, but I prefer the look of the Honda flanges and clamps. Do you think they'd work with these systems?
