Hello from Lethbridge Alberta!
« on: May 09, 2016, 01:15:14 PM »
I just purchased a fair 750K5 that I had the initial intentions of putting the minimum amount of work into to make it street worthy and then tackle a larger overhaul at a later time.  Well ... after getting it home and looking it over, I've decided that the larger project is now!  I'm in the process of reading, learning, planning and acquiring.  What a great site and a great resource.  Glad I found this forum!  Thanks.

Thanks Evan ... that shop manual will come in very handy!

What started off as a simple purchase of a 75 project has rapidly expanded to include most of a 77 and a 78 for misc donor bits and pieces.  I did also acquire a significant amount of new parts, including a tricked out engine, in a deal that I "just couldn't pass up".  My wife didn't see it the same way ...

Allo from Calgary... The wife will have to either appreciate the bike or not. If she chooses not to time to find a new wife.

Ha!  This one's well worth keeping, and isn't too hard to get onboard.  In fairness, I did tell her that I was going to pick up a couple of parts.  They just happened to completely fill the cab and box of my truck as well as another bike in tow on the trailer behind.  Good times!

Thanks for all the replies and information.  I will most definitely be posting up pictures - possibly a full build thread.

The engine I scored happens to be a 77 with a professionally installed Cycle X 915 kit.  All that is needed are a few misc pieces and final assembly.  This one is reserved for my build.  Other than that, I also have a healthy 75 and a presumed healthy 78 engine.  I'm also going to be left with an abundance of both new and used parts (body, mechanical, etc) that are not going to make it into the finished bike.

If you seriously are going to have any left over parts either frame or assorted please let me know as I am on the hunt for some stuff and will gladly support a board member over a business.

I have an abundance of parts right now that I'm positive won't make it into my build.  My plan for this weekend is to do a comprehensive inventory and photo session of everything I've acquired.  If you want to PM me your email address, I can send you the list when it's complete.  Thanks.
