Having a really bad month
« on: May 13, 2016, 12:52:25 AM »
This month has just been giving me a run for my mony.  A few days back someone tried to make off with my cb750 they didn't make it far before the bike stalled because the regulator rectifier wasn't hooked up, they did however fry the battery and screwed up some wireing.  Then during a inspection of the timing chain on my truck I found that the block had cracked where someone had over torqued one of the bolts on the timing cover so it is being torn down for repairs and a rebuild.  This leaves me with my Yamaha to get to work and back.  Today it was acting kind of funny and then it started to hit a wall about 4.5k so it needs a new fuel filter.  Needing a new filter isn't the biggest problem but with the couple of weeks I have had I am at the end of what I can take without rage quitting

Just realy had to vent a bit.  My father is striping down the engine in my truck and is going to take it to get it welded up.  The first time I rewired my cb750 it took me less than a day to make the loom and wire it all in so it's not a big deal to fix what's wrong and I will be going by the motorcycle shop to grab a new fuel filter and just hope it's not the fuel pump

Ya I did that last year for my at the time girlfreind (now wife) she seems to think that colorado summers are to hot, no idea what she means I my truck hasn't had a functional ac since I ran over a tree 2 winters ago (black ice + no abs = 1 uprooted small tree and a busted condenser) but that's why I have 6 windows that open.

Your luck is turning around. You don't have a fuel pump. It is all gravity feed.

Not on the yamaha it's tank is under the seat with a lift pump like a goldwing lucky it's a low pressure 12v pump so any electric pump from a carbed engine will work.  Just haze to fit

Well the new 22re is sitting in the garage and should be in by Sunday turns out that my isue with the sidecar rig was that I had bad gas, I drained it all in to a 5 gall jug and had about 1.5 inch of water at the bottom of the can.  Still haven't fixed the 750 as I got married this week and haven't had time but I have some time off next week and finish the wireing on the 450

Ran in to a snafu installing the engine with a bunch of hardware that was to far gone to reuse and some isues with the vacume lines needing replaced.  I will be heading out to my folks place to redo the vacume plumbing and remove the resonator since all it dose is lowers the exhaust tone which I don't care about since I have straight pipes so it kinda sounds like a farm truck.
