Noob to forum
« on: November 16, 2006, 02:29:45 PM »
Hi guys. Big Blue here. I just purchased a 1973 CB500 4. I am used to turning to forums for help with other of my mechanical maladies. I am in search of a 4 into 2 exhaust. And I want new or as close as I can to get it. I have looked every where for a week straight. Can anyone point me to a parts outlet or good shop. (live in Lexington, Ky)

I have even looked for CB 550 exhaust just to cover my customizing base.

PLZ - Help and Thanks in advance,

Blue

Welcome to the forum. There is a valuable resource list in the FAQ section of this site. I'm sure you'll find a few supliers for exhausts there.

Hey, Blue.

If you dare come to Cardinal country, you might try Magnum Cycle here in Louisville. 502-776-2142.

Kick ass Cats ! Whats with this winning football season?! Will wonders ever cease?! Welcome to the looney bin. Now, as far as Rushoid goes, even though he has the wrong color of blood, plus he lives in Hoosierana, he SEEMS to be a good guy. ;D :o. At least he is riding a 750 Super Sport ! Don't know anyone in Lex. Give Magnum a call and ask for Bob only. He a buddy of mine and will help you if he can. You gotta tell him Drug Man told you to call if you want the best service. Now, when you go visit preferably after 2pm he requires a 12 pack of Bud Light for admission and to get on his good side. If you take a 12 of Old Milwaukee he will know who sent you. Enjoy the afternoon. He has lots of used stuff or maybe he can track down something new. He knows the old Hondas.

Jerry, if I didn't know you better, I'd swear that's a setup.  ;)

Not trying to hijack the thread, but whats up with this Magnum Cycle's? Heard several peoples reccomendations for it, but have yet to figure out what exactly they do (work, parts, dealship?) and where are they located (downtown, highlands, j-town?).

welcome to the site. I've got a 72 500K that folks here helped me to resurrect from a junk pile about a year and a half ago.

I found a good set of 4-2 pipes and mufflers on ebay; anything listed for the 500 or 550K models will work, but defer to the experts on this site for exact interchangeability.

Hey, jw! They're at 1459 Dixie Hwy (at the downtown end). 776-2142. They're a parts & salvage place. Nice guys and they have a lot of stuff for old Japanese bikes. They were a big help with getting my bike going. They sell new parts too.

Thanks for the warm welcome to the site guys. I found some pipes from Mr. David Silver's Spares. They look awesome (nice power boost as well). Had to do some fab work to get them to work due to missing an exhaust gasket. I don't currently have a garage so I strap on a jacket and hat and work outside in the driveway. I absolutely love the bike would like a bit more power (Also have a '07 Sportster) and I have some oil leaks to track down but other than that it is a 14k gem.

Rushoid - Thanks for the suggestion I will have to go to Magnum Cycle. I am in Louisville at least once a month for some reason or another. (Heck, I used to work off Hurstborne) Love the Joke.

IndianRider - Sure thing we need to meet up, I bought the bike from a guy in Paris (who has a '76 750). We go riding now and again along with a guy I work with on a 1200 Sportster. I am slow as heck because I don't have the cajones to push the bike, Yet. Ya know where Shamrock Pub is??

I know Jardine used to make a 4-2 exhaust. I've got one on my bike.
