I'm 58 years old, have owned Honda 4's since the '80's when I bought a CB750K for $250. Then a CB550K for $100... back then we just rode them until they fell apart and then dropped them at the junkyard. Not so anymore! Anyway, I went to restoring Euro bikes, sold off my last CB550F (something I regretted immediately) and thought I moved on. I became the "scooter guy" in my area and in the AMCA Viking chapter in MN doing Vespa & other scooter restoration. The local VJMC chapter's beautiful bikes made me hungry for another Honda, and I bought a '64 Dream, and then a rough '63 Dream. One day when looking at craigslist I saw an ad for a '76 CB550F for $30 (with title!) that turned out to be a stripped-for-parts rolling F chassis with a perfectly good engine. It was in amazing shape and I decided to rebuild my old F. Although it was stripped there is a lot there and all the parts are good/clean up. So I threw it in the middle of the project queue between an Allstate and a Lambretta, it shouldn't take long. The VJMC guys are helping with parts. Now looking for a reasonable 750 to relive my younger days. Damn this #$%* is expensive now! Wish I would have spent my youth buying old motorcycles & guitars.

Pics of my project the day I got it, and my old F. It's pretty easy to see which is which.

Hey spoon,

No pics show up!

Try using something like photobucket or (my personal fav) imgur to upload the pics, then copy the BBCode link to your message.

Howdy!  Welcome.

I know what you mean. :)

Good job bringing back that 550F.
