Float Height
« on: May 16, 2016, 01:51:21 PM »
Hi,
What is the correct position to hold the carburettor when you want to measure the float height?
I have a F2 and the float is 14.5mm
Thx,
gp

lay the carbs on their side, so the floats hang down vertically, they will swing as you tilt the carbs.
let them hang down so they gently lay on the pin of the float valve.  this is position to measure.
you'll want the flat top of the float at the same height as the top of the pilot jet. 14.5mm

Flybox is spot on! On older bikes I like to set the float height gauge just over the the floats to allow a little tension on the floats tang against the float valve. To where it just slightly compresses the float. Helps with the kickstand leaks that are so common in the 750s.
