Ok, since the wife was laid off last week, after 22 years at the same job.
I have stepped up refereeing soccer games, like 7-10 per weekend.

I made $210. Woo hoo! On the way to the bank. Yeah I don;t get paid much but it's fun and we're not starving.
Besides, our mortgage is $410/month, and I need time to work on my bikes. You have to keep your priorities in order right?

I even got a compliment from some parent from the losing team this weekend. Very unusual. makes it worthwhile.

Friday recieved an unexpected bill for $5,000.00 .... I think that guy is going to have to wait a while. We really need universal health care in this country.

Been there, my sympathies, if you view life as a semi linear time line something will turn up as far as medicare I think that it's one of the things we pay taxes for (Canada) and a not a perk but a necessity.

Last year I had a few strokes and the bills were enormous, even with insurance. Paid out $5,000.00 in deductibles, and another $800.00 that was not covered under her insurance plan; PLUS we were paying $110/wk for insurance.
(she was working at an insurance company, no less)

On the good side, I was only paralyzed for 24 hours and woke up feeling fine. Was cleared by the doctors 2 months ago to start runing/biking/and refereeing-but no drinking.
