CB carb throttle rod removal help

Replacing this rod, stuck on how to remove old one, is there a trick?

There's a pressed in pin right there that you have to drill out, that's what is preventing any kind of lateral movement and keeping it from coming out.

You would also have to machine some kind of replacement pin.  Also, often times the other bolts are frozen and will break off.  Don't force anything and be careful.  I have dozens of broken linkages like that solely because someone didn't know about the pin or how to take it apart.  They just banged on it until they broke the pin and/or bushings and then the problem is worse.
