Yes, the vacuum operated fuel shut off has been removed. No biggie, I removed mine also. You can run a fuel line directly from the tank to the carbs if your tank petcock is working okay. The single small hose coming from the front of the #2 carb can be removed and the fitting can be covered with a rubber cap available at auto stores or you can remove it and put a short screw like the other carbs have. Between carbs 1 and 2 you should have a T fitting and another between 3 and 4. These fittings each have a hose that that comes out and T together to a bigger rubber hose that goes to the airbox. In a nutshell, you will have three hoses going to the carbs. A fuel line from the tank to the carbs. A line to each T fitting, these go to the airbox. I can't tell from the pics, but it looks like the stock airbox is missing. You REALLY do want the stock airbox because it is the best set up for these carbs. They DO NOT like pod filters and you will have a terrible time getting the bike to run correctly. Also if the carbs leak fuel when you put gas to them it is more than likely the o-rings on the fuel tubes and maybe the smaller rings on the accelerator pump tubes. The carbs on the 81's are not difficult to work on, BUT make sure they are clean and then clean them again. You can but kits with the O-rings and float bowl gaskets included. These guys will be a great help. http://hondacb650.com/index.php

It looks like the two lines from the T fittings are going to a bigger hose and then back to the carbs. That is wrong. That hose goes to the airbox and the line from the fuel tank goes to the carbs.

I was confused for a second, thought numbering was from right to left.  ::)

So from the fuel tank fuel goes to the bigger hose in between 2 and 3? Do you know what size this hose should be?

Left to right sitting on the bike. I went to my local hardware store and bought fuel line in the mower dept. Auto parts stores have it too. I bought 5/16 fuel line.
