 First one looks about right...
Now install the rubbers and put a ruler over the parts that hold the two rubbers together.... now take a sideview pic..

I think its hanging up on the connecting strap, the other type, (I think ) does not have that..

Would u recommend new rubbers?
These are henry abe rims.. Im not sure if stock k7 cush rubbers will work with these or not. I have a part number from honda for new ones, but its hard to tell if there the same.

You could always mark the sides of the rubber strap with felt pen, then grind a bit off.

The side the blue tape is marked, is the side that consistently site higher. No matter which orientation you have the carrier or rubbers.

Same story for the low side.

Third pic is some silicone spray showing even bearing on the bearing.

That seems like an awfully small difference. Have you tried installing it and torque'ing the rear axle to see if the difference disappears? Maybe those rubbers just need to get squished!   :D

Are you using the correct spacer between the sprocket hub and the wheel hub? The sprocket hub should not "bottom out" on the rubber dampers...

There are two types of spacers, the later 77/78 used a longer spacer than the 76 and earlier models.

Those wheels are aftermarket, Henry Abe maybe? If those rims were bought used, and if they had been previously installed on a 76 or earlier CB750, and if the used wheel came with the earlier sprocket hub, then the person that installed them on the 77' CB750 mixed up the spacers, then maybe the spacer behind the sprocket hub is too short?

Sorry i mentioned it briefly earlier.
By spacer you guys mean "side collar" or the internal sleeve that sits inside of the carrier bearing and seats on the bearing in the hub!?
If were taking about the internal sleeve (lets call it) it makes contact with the bearing and doesnt the allow the carrier to rest on anything. I confirmed this with the cush rubbers out. Theres a pic posted.

Ive also torqued everything to spec, 60-70 ft.lbs. improves things slighly, but still isnt strait.

These are authentic Henry Abe rims. I dont know the history of them, or the bike for that matter. So mis match parts are definetly a good theory.

If theres only a slight different in spacer sizes, this could very well be the wrong spacer.
I dont know enough about these rims or bikes to know how far the hub should be seated. An extra 1/16-1/8 in spacer lenghth could potentially solve the problem..

The late spacer ids10 mm longer , that would leave a 1/4 inch gap.
did you compare length of rubber to the hole they sit in ? that is to say with sprocket carrier off if you push on the rubber does it go down about an 1/8 inch ? or is it firmly on the bottom.
Bring up the fiches and see which rubber fits which years.

The four members on the carrier dont seat tight to the hub unless u push down on a particular side individually. With the carrier seated normally, there is a gap between the four carrier members and the hub on the rim.
If that makes sense? Or answers your question.

I'm pretty boggled with this thing. Took it for a short drive earlier in hopes something would magically seat itself. No such luck.

Thanks again for everyones advice and ideas! Very appreciated!

ref# 26 It is actualy a d-ring so don't go to the hardware store  ;D If this is a Honda wheel in the op you said you had a 750K they have spokes ???
EDIT (Put the D-RING on)

Looking back at your previous posts I see where you had just the spacer installed behind the sprocket carrier that left the sprocket carrier sitting just a little bit higher. This would be how it should be. I cannot figure how the rubbers would cause any misalignment, especially with the axle installed. The only way I can figure that could happen would be if one of the wheel bearings (either in the sprocket carrier of the hub) was worn badly, or damaged in some way, or the bearing was not seated squarely. From the looks of that bearing retainer I would inspect the condition of the bearings closely. All Balls has bearing kits, and the bearing retainer I believe is still available from Honda, so replacing the bearings and retainer might be a good idea, if only for peace of mind and as "cheap insurance".
