Was there ever a 100cc Honda parallel twin ?
« on: June 08, 2016, 01:30:35 PM »
Thinking about projects and I was wondering if there had ever been a 100cc Honda parallel twin engine? If so does anyone know models and years? I might like to do a project with them if I can find them and they are not incredibly rare or expensive! Any leads gate fully received.... ;)

I'm not a historian, but the smallest twin I am aware of is the CB160.

There was a CA/CB 92, which was 123cc. May have been marketed as a CB150, IDR. Parallel twin

I should add:
CB92R was a 125cc twin, as were the CL125A and the SS125A.

IF you are interested in a SS125A, I know where one is -- great exhaust, missing a few parts (tank, seat)...

There was a 125SS twin in the sixties which made good power and for what it was and era it was/is high performance;they still appear on Craigslist.org here and there.

CA95 was 154cc, and that was an upgrade path for the CA92 or CB92 in displacement. Honda even sold it as an upgrade for the 125cc parallel twin.
The CB92 was more of a race bike where as the CA95 was more of a city bike or country road bike capable of maybe 60 mph. The CB95 was very rare in the US and was a pretty bike, as were the CB92s or CB160s.

Thanks guys for the intel, I guess the summary answer is "no" but I can get close with a 125ss/CB92. That might just work if I reduce stroke or sleeve the bores to 100cc....hmmm I need to find these engines to have a look at...thanks!  ;)
