It all depends how hot and humid it gets, and how tolerant you are.

I've ridden in 110 desert heat in full leathers on a track.  Not very comfy.

IMHO - see-through mesh looks silly, but if you are in tropical heat (like Sepang), it might make perfect sense.

I would characterize all of the OP's examples as textile.

My scorpion stinger exo perforated leather jacket is pretty good at keeping the air flowing on warm days.
http://www.compacc.com/p/scorpion-stinger-mens-jacket

On HeatwaveinIndia hot days, i opt for my Cortech GX Air 2 mesh.  feels like im wearing a t-shirt, but w all the safety features
http://www.motorcycletoystore.com/sport/shop.php/motorcycle-jackets/textile/cortech/cortech-gx-air-2-textile-jacket/p_2403.html

Both jackets have zip in thermal liners.
The GX air also has a zip in waterproof liner.

Before I feel the wave of hate, by MESH, I meant apparel like the Dianese mesh jacket (below).  I think what most other manufacturers might characterize as mesh, I would call textile.

I just took my mesh jacket out for the first time today.  Basically protectors and pockets held together by a net, works great in heat.

Thank you guys.  I'm riding in NYC  New Jersey, New York State and Connecticut.  ALOT of traffic. Summer's are hot and humid day time and not much better at night.  I would like to stay protected and comfortable and trying to do so at around the $100 range.

Sounds like a textile jacket with plenty of vent zippers would be a good choice, since you also get rain during the summer.

Textile jackets are the most affordable product on the market.  You can get them from almost every major manufacturer: Dianese (pricier), Alpinestars, and everywhere down to mass-middle market ICON, Speed and Strength, and down to discount brands like Built (generic line produced for Cycle Gear stores).  Check out some large on-line distributors like Revzilla, RidersDiscount which allow you to do category and price range searches.  Try to buy an established brand name and one that has CE armor integrated into the jacket.

Living in the desert, I wear an armored mesh or textile jacket and when it's REALLY hot a wet vest under it.

Quality armored perforated leather. I live and ride in NJ too. And as soon as Chobham armor is available for civilian market I am switching to that.

I chose an armored mesh for warm weather similar to 70CB750's link. Black leather got to be more than I could stand under the brutal Florida summer sun. Full mesh with a zip in liner (in case it cools down and or starts to rain). The one I have even has the Honda logo, but I did remove the "VTX" patches:

Armor in the elbows, shoulders, and back. Found it on closeout for about $60 a couple of years ago (NLA).

Anybody need a VTX patch?

Find a good mesh Jacket with built in armor pads.  I went down in a yoshimura mesh jacket and it did its job well.  If you get too hot in leathers on long trips in the heat,  be prepared to anticipate exhaustion and dehydration into your decision making and motor reflexes.

Another brand that carries a mesh jacket is Johnny Rocket, their Phoenix jacket line is a mesh with a zip in/out weather liner for those rainy days or cool mornings before the summer heat kicks in...
They have CE armor in shoulders and elbows but not in the back protector, lots of jackets skimp there. But you can buy a CE rated back protector and put it in that jacket or any other... Their foam protector works OK but not designed to help give you the protection of a CE rated back/spine protector.
