exhaust pipes burning clutch cable
« on: November 17, 2006, 04:27:25 PM »
I'm installing a new clutch cable and noticed that my old cable was running right against an exhaust pipe and was burned on one side.  Does anybody have a closeup picture of how they route the clutch cable to avoid the exhaust?

Thanks.

Sorry, no pictures :-[  Just use a couple zip ties, one high and one low, to secure the cable to the frame downtube. This should keep it from bumping against the exhaust when you turn the handlebars.
Give me..a frame to build a bike on, and my imagination will build upon that frame

Kawasaki Part # 92037-1552. That cable needs to move some to really work properly (lock to lock).

Thanks guys.  I zip tied it to the frame.

I think maybe my drag bars cause the cable to be too long so now I have a bigger loop up by the bars.
