Hey I forgot one. I had to work as a Service Station Attendant also. Funny shyt I had to make change in my head and wear a change belt because the owner was too cheap to get a register. Plus this was full serve. Thankfully it was short lived, like 2 months. And NO I did not wear a little bow tie  ;D

GEEZE I think I did about everything. I even worked as a ranch hand for a short time in Texas. No nones back was broken and no mountains to be found. Was in 95 during the big Rabies scare.

Yeah Tom........my service station attendant job sucked too. It was full serve if you wanna call it that. The place use to be self serve but the owners figured they would make more money pumping gas,checking/adding oil/tranny fluid. It was an island with 8 pumps and a glass booth in the middle. Froze my butt off in the winter. What got me was the idiots that came up and wanted $1 worth of gas, check their oil/tranny fluid and bring them a pack of Newports....and had a LOCKING GAS CAP!!!!!!!!!! >:(  >:(  >:(  ;D

Being a Scout Sniper must have been cool. I must have been one in a past life......its about all I study.

Bill the F4 Phantoms were among my favorite planes. The only thing I think I like better it the A-10  ;D

The A-10s are pretty awesome for their use as "Tank Destroyers". The Air National Guard, in Ft. Smith, is supposed to lose their F-16s and gain A-10s but, I'm not sure when. I'm pretty partial to several planes ( mostly older Jets like: the F4 Phantom, F104 Star Fighter, B-58 Hustler, F14 Tomcat )
For those who don't know, but might care, the first 3 (F4, F104 and the B58 all used J79 engines. the F104 used 1, the F4 used 2 and the B58 used 4. Of course they were slightly different versions for each application. You should see an F4 that goes to the "trim pad" ( a place to secure the plane and sun the engines up to adjust them out). The plane is secured by dropping the tailhook and attaching a huge chain to it and once, over in Japan, my buddy and I went to the trim pad with an F4 along with an engineman. My buddy took his camera and the engineman told my buddy that he would give him something worthwhile to take pictures of. He opened up the left engine to full military power and back to idle. Then he did the right engine the same way. Then, he gave my buddy the signal and opened up both engines to full military power and on into Afterburner for a couple of minutes (that seemed like forever!) before shutting them down. I have to tell you, that F4 was straining that chain, the concrete pad was vibrating, the flames, from the afterburner, were awesome and I remember thinking,"If that sucker came loose, it would be half way across Japan before it could be stopped!" I just wish that I'd gotten some copies of those pictures! I know the newer planes are far more sophisticated but, I guess the F4 is kinda like the SOHC4s, you know?
By the way, I also am fond of the B-52.

Aged 14 I used to mow lawns for about 20 cents an hour,

Then...

Aged about 16 to 18 I was a casual wharf labourer (seagull) during my school holidays and that was big money. Stacking 40 lb cases of apples 7 high in Pommy freezer ships eight hours a day...cold and hard work..Kept me in surfboards, wetsuits, beer and gas money for the rest of the year...(used to have a six pack)..then..

Chipping rust out of the guts of coastal freighters...also big money ($150 a week)

There was a reason they called the F4 Phantom II the Rhino  ;D

J79 was sure a cool engine. So much for brakes when you could lock them ..run the engines up...and still take off.

Sure is funny how many folks in Aviation don't look at it as a "real job".  ;)
