Tire issue fixed, now squeaky brakes
« on: May 30, 2016, 01:45:46 PM »
As some of you may remember,  i had a new front tire put on a few weeks ago, and when I picked it up,  I had the front fender rubbing on the new tire, and lots of vibration around 35-40mph. Took iy back to my mechanic, got that fixed, but now the darn front brakes sqeak all the time. The noise goes away when I apply the brakes. Truly sucks because i never had this before,  and it's embarrassing when riding at slow speeds, and people hear that #$%*. Any advice on how I can fix this myself without having to take it back to my mechanic. I'm not mechanically inclined, so all help is appreciated.  Thanks

You just need to adjust the caliper alignment-to-the disc sounds like. Just need a flathead screwdriver. Easy to do.
Hopefully that's the issue and not a misaligned pad in the caliper.
Do you have a copy of the Honda Shop Manual or Parts List for your bike? Get one here:

I went ahead and turn it a bit counterclockwise,  and adjusted the nut. The squeak has minimized,  but now increases when i lightly pull the brake, and goes away at full pull.
